IU has received several awards in the inaugural Pride of CASE (Council for the Advancement and Support of Education) District Five Awards Program. Media awards were presented at the December CASE District Five annual meeting in Chicago.
A gold award was presented in the “Communications and Marketing
Sweepstakes” category to the IU Office of Communications
and Marketing (Lisa Townsend, Rebecca
Salerno, Tony Proudfoot, Angela
Tharp and Dave Rust) for IU’s “Advancing
Indiana” campaign, and a gold award designation was given to the
IU Office of Publications (Mary Spohn
and Marcia Busch-Jones) for its brochure on IU
Bloomington’s Freshman Interest Groups, also known as FIGs.
A silver award in the category of most improved alumni or institution
magazine was awarded to the IUB School of Music’s IU Music,
produced by the Office of Publications (Kathryn
Red, Erika Knudson, Mary Spohn
and Marcia Busch-Jones). In the most improved
tabloids and newsletters category, the IU School of Fine
Arts’ SoFA Newsletter, produced by the Office
of Publications (Erika Knudson, Dennis
Hill and Cate Whitcomb) received
a gold award.
A silver award in the category of “general cultivation publications”
also was awarded to the Office of Publications
for its presentation of the IUB Multidisciplinary Science Building
(Erika Knudson, Dennis Hill
and free-lance photographer Tyagan Miller).
A silver award was given to IU Update in the video category,
a production of the Office of Communications and Marketing
(Mike Pipher, Krystal Spencer
and Dave Rust), and a recruitment video for the
IU School of Law received a bronze award for
OCM (Dave Rust and Krystal Spencer).
A gold award in the PSAs and commercial spots category garnered
a gold award for IUPUI for the agency-produced
“Math Matters High School Math Contest.”
Additionally, the IU Foundation received a
bronze award for its external online tabloid new ground (Liz
Rosdeitcher, Dave Richardson, Bill
Holaday, Dru Presti-Stringfellow and
Tyagan Miller).
