• Students, staff and faculty with Asian cultural heritages will welcome the lunar new year Thursday (Jan. 22) at 7 p.m. with a program for Hoosiers everywhere that will include performances and food. Everyone’s invited to this Asian Culture Center event, at the Grand Hall of the Neal-Marshall Cultural Center on the Bloomington campus. (It’s the Year of the Monkey!) The Monroe County Public Library on Saturday, Jan. 24, will have snacks, crafts and stories for the kindergarten through sixth-grade set, featuring lunar new year snacks, crafts and stories.

• Killer Shots: A Photographic Response to War continues through Feb. 6 at the IUB School of Fine Arts Gallery, Tuesday-Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. The war photos span more than three decades. A panel discussion is planned Friday, Jan. 30, at 5:30 p.m. in Fine Arts 102.
