African-American writer/publisher to speak at IU South Bend

African-American writer and publisher Haki R. Madhubuti will speak Feb. 22 at 7 p.m, at the IU South Bend Student Activities Center.

Madhubuti is founder of the Third World Press and is a professor of English and director of the Gwendolyn Brooks Center at Chicago State University. He is the author of 22 books, including Think Black; Black Men: Obsolete, Single and Dangerous? and From Plan to Planet, and Ground Work: New and Selected Poems, 1966-1996. Third World is approaching its 35th anniversary in the business of publishing the works of African-American writers. A book signing will follow the speech.
