| IPFW biologist William DeMott has received a $115,539 grant from the National Science Foundation to study the food chain ecology of lakes, particularly the role of poor food quality on the growth of filter feeding zooplankton in freshwater lakes. His field research will be conducted this summer at the Kellogg Biological Station at Michigan State University. This month, he has been invited to speak at the annual gathering of the American Society of Limnology and Oceanography in Albuquerque, N.M.
