| Yolanda Moses, president of the American Association for Higher Education (AAHE), will be the keynote speaker at the 19th annual spring symposium April 13 on the Indiana University Bloomington campus.
IU faculty, staff and students from all campuses of the university will be exploring the topic “Access to Excellence: Communities of Learning for Our New Century” from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Indiana Memorial Union. The IUB offices of the vice chancellors for Academic Affairs and for Student Affairs-Campus Life Division are symposium sponsors.
Moses will be coming to Bloomington fresh from the AAHE national conference on higher education, scheduled March 24–27 in Washington, D.C. Speakers there will include Donald Norman, president of Learning Systems, a division of UNext.com, the distance education company with offices in Bloomington and Chicago.
The IU symposium schedule will include 15-minute presentations dealing with student learning behaviors and conventional teaching practice as well as effectiveness of innovations.
Presentation proposals are due to Suzanne Phillips, assistant dean of students, Franklin Hall 206, IUB, by Thursday, Feb. 15.
Registration materials for the symposium will be available after March 1.
