• IU Kokomo exceeded its goal of raising $468,000 by the end of 2004, to attain a Kresge Foundation matching grant and establish an endowment for replacement of science education equipment. On Jan. 21, gifts to the Kresge Science Initiative campaign totaled $502,247. Coupled with the construction of Virgil and Elizabeth Hunt Hall in the late 1990s and associated gifts for building maintenance and scholarships, the campaign represents another milestone in more than 12 years and $3 million in efforts to advance science education on the campus.

• The Guidant Foundation has funded two graduate fellowships at IUPUI in health informatics, the fastest growing graduate program at the IU School of Informatics; more than 25 students are currently enrolled in the program begun in 2002.

• American Experience, the PBS history series produced by WGBH Boston, will air “Kinsey,” a profile of the IU sex researcher, this month. Executive producers are Steve Krahnke, director of national program development at PBS-affiliate WTIU in Bloomington and a lecturer at the IU Department of Telecommunications, and Catherine Allan of Twin Cities Public Television. WTIU in Bloomington will air the segment at 9 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 14. Check local listings for other air times.
