‘Errant Behaviors,’ ‘Hypertextiles’ run through March 11 at SoFA Gallery
The School of Fine Arts Gallery at IU Bloomington is hosting the exhibition Errant Behaviors through March 11. The work is a video installation by Chicago artist Anne Wilson and features animations of Wilson’s small fiber creations, exploring the relationship between humor and the dark side. The exhibition illustrates and embodies rude actions, quirky growth and playful and sinister relationships.

The exhibition was originally created for the Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston but has been dramatically reconfigured for the SoFA Gallery exhibit.

A companion show, Hypertextiles, is featuring the works of seven artists from the U.S. and Canada in woven and printed textiles.

In conjunction with IUB’s ArtsWeek, Lia Cook, a California artist represented in the Hypertextiles exhibit, will speak at the School of Fine Arts 015 on Friday, Feb. 11, at 6 p.m. Her lecture will be followed by an ArtsWeek reception.

Hoosier artist Anne McKenzie Nickolson, whose work also is represented in Hypertextiles, is scheduled to speak at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, at 5:30 p.m. at the School of Fine Arts 102.
