IU Bloomington’s Union Board will present a lecture on Wednesday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m. with Afeni Shakur, the mother of the late Tupac Shakur, an influential rap artist.
Afeni Shakur is a former Black Panther and founder of Amaru Records. She will be joined by actress Jasmine Guy. Guy will speak on her life and her book, Afeni Shakur: Evolution of a Revolutionary.
Following the lecture at the IU Auditorium, there will be a short session for questions and answers, and a book signing.
