Tax preparation assistance available at IU South Bend

It is that taxing time of the year, again. The Accounting Department of the School of Business and Economics at Indiana University South Bend is offering tax preparation assistance for elderly and low- income taxpayers.

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) will be offered from 8 a.m. to noon on April 14. Room 1170 of Wiekamp Hall. Taxpayers will be assisted on a first come, first served basis.

Faculty, staff, students and the general public with an income below $30,000 can participate in the service. Participants are asked to bring last year s return, the federal and state tax booklets, W-2s, 1099s and any other related tax documents.
