Staff encouraged to view inauguration
IU staff members are encouraged to attend the inauguration of the university’s 17th president, either in person at the IU Auditorium in Bloomington at 3 p.m. Thursday (April 15) or from one of the campuses’ live video feed locations.

Supervisors have been advised that attendance is to be treated as a work-related activity and while supervisory approval is required to assure essential services continue, employees’ requests should be honored when possible. Employees are not required to use paid time off benefits or to incur an absence without pay to attend. If an employee’s shift ends prior to the conclusion of the inauguration, the employee would be paid only through the end of the normal shift unless other arrangements have been made to adjust the schedule. Overtime will not be incurred as a result of attending the inauguration.
