• IU Cancer Center volunteers collected blood samples from 851 women who are now “Friends for Life” during the April 16 Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure. The Friends for Life project involves collecting blood for DNA research from 500 women who have not had breast cancer and from 500 women who have or have had the disease. • Results from Educational Testing Services put IU Southeast senior business students in the top 5 percent nationwide score wise, based on comparison with 469 other colleges and universities and more than 80,000 examinees. Uric Dufrene is campus dean of the School of Business in New Albany.

• The IU Northwest Dance Company, under the direction of adjunct professor Megan Lindsay, will take to the stage of Theatre Northwest on Saturday, April 30, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, May 1, at 2:30 p.m.
