Students enrolled in A403/Introduction to Museum Studies will open two new exhibits to the public at the Mathers Museum of World Cultures on the Bloomington campus. Both exhibits are curated as part of the students' studies in the anthropology class.
Talking Shoes, an exhibit geared toward young children and their families highlighting shoes around the world, will open on Tuesday, April 26, with a reception scheduled from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m.
Preserving Liberia: The IU Connection, examines the history and material culture of Liberia and IU's Liberian Collections Project; it opens Thursday, April 28, with a reception scheduled from 2:30 to 3:45 p.m. Both exhibits will be available for viewing through Dec. 23.
The Mathers Museum of World Cultures is located at 416 N. Indiana Ave., Bloomington. Its exhibit hall and museum store are open Tuesdays through Fridays, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Saturdays and Sundays, from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Admission to the museum is free.
