‘Research at IU’ receives international award for technical communication
‘Get Connected’ wins chapter award from STC

“Research at Indiana University,” has won an international Award of Merit for Technical Art, Promotional Materials from the Society for Technical Communication. The international award comes after the publication won a Distinguished Award for Promotional Materials from the society’s Chicago chapter.

Led by Sherry Fisher of the Office of the Vice President for Research, and designed by Maria Morris of the University Information Technology Services’ Communications and Planning Office, key contributors were Lauren Bryant, editor of Research and Creative Activity magazine, and Jan Holloway, publications manager of the Communications and Planning Office. The goal of the project was to raise awareness within the university community and more broadly of the distinguished accomplishments and goals of research taking place at IU.

“Get Connected,” a publication distributed to new residents at IU Bloomington and IUPUI campus residences, won an Award of Merit for Informational Materials from the STC Chicago chapter. Led by Charles Rondot of the UITS Communications and Planning Office, “Get Connected” also was designed by Morris, with Lowell Furman of UITS Residential IT Services serving as key contributor.
