| Jeff Lorber is the new vice chancellor for university advancement in the newly formed Division for University Advancement at IU Northwest.
The new division is a merge between two separate offices formally known as the Office of External Affairs and the Office of Marketing and Communications. The division encompasses the offices of development, alumni, marketing and communications.
“I am very excited about Jeff’s presence at IU Northwest,” said IUN Chancellor Bruce Bergland. “His commitment to education is evidenced by his high-level accomplishments.” said Bergland. “He is an excellent person to work with and fits in well at the university—and in northwest Indiana.”
Lorber came to IU Northwest from the University of Tennessee (UT) where he served as director of development for the College of Engineering. Among his achievements is the coordination of the largest gift made to UT in its history, a software gift valued at more than $47 million. Prior to his service at UT, he served as director of university development at Northern Illinois University and as director of major gifts at Butler University.
Lorber has an Ed.D. degree in educational administration and policy affairs from UT, a master’s degree in college student personnel from Western Illinois University and a bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations from the University of Northern Iowa.
