| • Sound Medicine, the health information broadcast of the IU School of Medicine, has become the first health-talk public radio program to “podcast,” meaning that listeners can subscribe to the show online and listen to segments offline via the iPod or other hand-held MP3 file devices. • Kris Hunt , a first-year medical student at IU, placed third in his weight class this month at the USA Powerlifting 2005 Collegiate Nationals at Louisana State University. He is the current 90 kilo class world champion and the junior world champion for USA Powerlifting.
• Graduating senior Holly Dunn was named the IU East “Student of the Year” and was scheduled to be the student speaker at today’s commencement. The double major in communication and behavioral social sciences also has earned certification in Hispanic studies.
• The IU Kokomo Speech Team placed 10th in its division at the National Forensic Association Championship Tournament April 14–17 at the University of Akron.
• IU Bloomington placed fourth and IU South Bend placed fifth among 36 teams competing in the Indiana College Mathematics Contest .
• Fifty-five percent of respondents in the High School Survey of Student Engagement , conducted nationally from IU Bloomington, do less than an hour of homework a day.
