Kelley’s KIP makes impression on CNN’s Dobbs

Kamma

Today’s national focus on offshore outsourcing has turned to MBA programs that offer courses on the subject, and the IU Kelley School of Business’ KIP (Kelley International Perspectives) trip to India this past school year caught the eye of the media.

CNN’s Lou Dobbs Tonight sent a producer to Bloomington in early March to interview Sreenivas Kamma, associate professor of finance, and the 20-member team that was departing for ten days in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai.

The results of the filming: a well-balanced news segment on Dobbs’ "Importing America" segment. While in Bangalore, Kelley students were shadowed by reporters and photographers from the New York Times and the Associated Press. As a result, the March 28 Sunday Times’ business section ran a story on outsourcing as a prime subject for business students, with Kelley students capturing the lead and photograph over other featured programs at Tuck, Bentley, Sloan and Wharton. Other outcroppings about Kelley’s India travelers have appeared in India, Canada and on Yahoo’s home news page.
