• More than 80 percent of the Indiana population lives within a 50-mile radius of one of the eight campuses of IU.

Aug. 30, is an IU alumna. Feisal Amin Istrabadi, who assumed
the Iraqi ambassadorship to the United Nations this week,
has both a chemistry degree and a law degree from IU.
• Children, parents and employees were on hand when the IUPUI Center for Young Children christened its new 40-passenger shuttle bus in May, using a jug of milk. The bus, which is decked out in a baby Jaguar painting and paw prints (to honor the Indianapolis campus’ mascot), is equipped with seat belts and built-in car seats for toddlers.
