ARTI appoints Johncox and Purpus

Judy Johncox has joined the Indiana University Advanced Research and Technology Institute (ARTI) as executive director of the Office of Technology Transfer, and Ellen Purpus has been appointed director of medical life sciences for ARTI’s Office of Techno logy Transfer.

Johncox was formerly assistant vice chancellor for intellectual property management for the University of Houston where she coordinated all activity involving corporations, industry partnerships and technology transfer.

Purpus comes to ARTI from the Fox Chase Cancer Center in Philadelphia.

ARTI is based in Indianapolis and also operates from offices in Bloomington. It is a private, not-for-profit corporation acting as an agent for IU to develop, protect and convey technology and expertise from IU researchers to the world of business. ARTI s erves inventors on all IU campuses by establishing links with the private enterprise marketplace.
