Galvin


Two IU professors have received prestigious awards for authorship from the journal CHOICE: Current Reviews for Academic Libraries.

The works of historian Eleanor Turk of IU East and geographer Peter Galvin of IU Southeast have been honored with “Outstanding Academic Book for 1999” designations.

Turk’s The History of Germany (Greenwood Press) is an historical account of Germany from antiquity through 1998, with special emphasis on the 20th century. Galvin is the author of Patterns of Pillage: A Geography of Caribbean-Based Piracy in Spanish Amer ica 1536-1718 (Peter Lang Publishing).
