Family Medicine Scholars Consortium Members


Among the participants in the consortium are: (back row from left) Eric Lee, Richard Kiovsky, James Blackwell, Elizabeth Ferries-Rowe and Thomas Lahr; (second row) Wendy Mason, Tamera Welp and Cynthia Price; and (front row) Brenda O’Hara and Jennifer Custer. Mason was a 1998 program participant; Lee, Ferri es-Rowe and Welp were part of the 1999 group; and Blackwell, Lahr and Price are part of the 2000 group. Kiovsky and O’Hara are faculty members who help guide the family medicine effort, and Custer is a staff member who handles organizational details for t he consortium.


Coordinated by the IUPUI-based medical school’s Department of Family Medicine, the Family Medicine Scholar Consortium is a blend of six programs which make first-hand experiences in family practice available to IUSM students. Members of the consortium are :

• Cinergy Foundation Rural Family Medicine Preceptorship Program

• Deaconess Family Practice Residency Summer Preceptorship Program

• Indiana Energy Family Medicine Preceptorship Program

• Indiana Academy of Family Physicians Foundation Adopt-A-Student Program

• Indiana Department of Health Urban Family Medicine Preceptorship Program

• Midwest Center for Rural Health Hoosier Preceptorship Program
