“The Spindle and the Shrine: Daily Life of Women in Classical Times” isn’t the only exhibit on an Indiana University campus this fall.

IU has long been lauded as a gracious home to the arts. With beautiful galleries or generous display areas at every IU campus, there is much to see and enjoy.

Here’s a sampling:

Oct. 4—Nov. 4: “H X W X D X 6” at the Herron Gallery, Museum Building, 1701 N. Pennsylvania St., Indianapolis, features the work of contemporary American sculptors Amy Brier, Palli Davis, Christopher Furman, Alison Helm, David Nelson and Diane Simpson. < br>
Oct. 8—Nov. 19: “From Fire and Loom: Wes Hunting & Martha Roediger” at the IU Kokomo Gallery. Hunting’s highly patterned and colorful glass vessels complement Roediger’s exuberant, colorful, woven and constructed textiles.

Oct. 9—Nov. 3: The abstract paintings of Judith Geichman at the IU Northwest Gallery of Contemporary Art and “Day of the Dead Altars” at Gallery Northwest.

And, for other arts activities on the IU campuses, go on line to the master events calendar:
