High-tech classroom brings world to campus

When a group of MBA students in the Kelley School of Business at IUPUI travelled to Hong Kong this past summer to join City University students in a consulting project, they met face-to-face for the first time, but they were hardly strangers. Kelley’s “gl obal classroom” had already allowed introductions during a series of video conferences held to plan the trip.

The technologically advanced multi-purpose classroom features a complete control room with editing facilities. Classes may be broadcast live to other campuses, video conferences link IUPUI to anywhere in the world, and students with laptop computers may v iew their professor’s presentation.

The classroom also makes the new Kelley Direct On-Line MBA program possible. Professors are able to digitally record mini-lectures in that room to be viewed by students at a convenient time by using the Internet.
