‘Dracula’ goes to university

Which is more frightening: A slobby roommate or a date with Dracula? The IUB Department of Theatre and Drama offers audiences a chance to ponder this question at performances of Dracula andThe Odd Couple.

• The Lee Norvelle Theatre and Drama Center presents Dracula, by Steven Dietz. This classic vampire tale, based on the novel by Bram Stoker, will haunt audiences without missing a beat of the heart-pumping fun of this masterpiece of Gothic literature. Dracula opens Friday, Oct. 8, at 8 p.m. and continues in the Ruth N. Halls Theatre Oct. 9 and 11-16. Tickets: $15/adults and $13/students and seniors (discounts Monday-Thursday only).

• Can two divorced men share an apartment without driving each other crazy? Brown County Playhouse offers Neil Simon’s classic The Odd Couple, Fridays through Sundays until Oct. 23 in historic Nashville. Audio description for the blind and visually impaired will be offered on Oct. 23. Curtain time for performances is 8 p.m. Tickets: Sundays, $15 ($8/children 12 and under); Fridays and Saturdays, $17 ($9/children 12 and under). Tickets are available at the Brown County Playhouse Box Office, at the IU Auditorium Box Office, or by phone through all Ticketmaster outlets.
