Dedication of Herman B Wells Plaza, unveiling of sculpture Oct. 21 at IUB
Homecoming weekend activities Oct. 19-21 on the IU Bloomington campus will include the dedication of the Herman B Wells Plaza and the unveiling of a “sculpture portrait” of Wells created by Harold “Tuck” Langland, professor of fine arts at IU South Bend.
The plaza, near the Old Crescent of the campus, and the sculpture, that portrays Wells seated on a park bench, will be dedicated Oct. 21 at 9 a.m. Homecoming festivities will also feature the 42nd annual parade with IU Olympians as grand marshals.
