| The Indiana Genomics Initiative (INGEN) Proteomics Symposium is scheduled Friday, Nov. 15, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the auditorium of the University Place Conference Center, IUPUI.
The program will include sessions addressing advances in the proteomic core technologies and applications relevant to human health.
The symposium is free and open to all interested persons, but it is requested that those intending to attend E-mail Dr. Mu Wang at muwang@iupui.edu.

Mark Hermodson, Purdue University Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, introduction; Frank Witzmann, IU School of Medicine (IUSM), “2-D: Gel-based Proteomics; Milos Novotny, IUB Department of Chemistry, “Glycoproteomics—Where Separation Science and Mass Spectrometry Meet;” David Clemmer, IUB Department of Chemistry, “Mass Spectrometry in Proteomics;” Randall Julian, Eli Lilly, “Data Management Strategies;” Linda Malkas, IUSM, “Cancer Biomarker Development—A Systems Approach;” John Hale, Lilly Research Laboratories, “Proteomics in Drug Development;” and Mark Hermodson and John Hawes, IUSM, closing remarks.
The event will conclude with a poster session/reception open to all attendees. All participants, especially students, are encouraged to submit abstracts for proteomics-related poster presentations. Abstracts should include title, authors and affiliations in RTF format, 250 words maximum. Posters should be no larger than 24 inches wide by 36 inches tall. Abstract deadline is Friday, Nov. 1.
