IU emerita faculty member Helen Gibbons reaches out to
the likeness of the late University Chancellor Herman B Wells. The new
sculpture, the work of IU South Bend’s Harold “Tuck” Langland, and the
Wells Plaza were dedicated at a ceremony during IUB’s homecoming weekend
earlier this month. Several hundred attended the ceremony before IU'’s
Hoosiers defeated Minnesota 51-43 at Memorial Stadium. The Wells Plaza
is located in the Old Crescent section of the Bloomington campus.
