How can Western norms and Muslim values be balanced? That’s the question addressed by IU Professor Nazif Shahrani, director of the Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies Program at IU Bloomington, and Professor Ali Mazrui, director of the Institute of Global Cultural Studies at the State University of New York, Binghamton. The two held a topical conversation during a recent meeting of the Association of Muslim Social Scientists, held on the IU Bloomington campus.
