Answer: The Oct. 22 “Hoosier view” is a detail of Harold “Tuck” Langland’s Crossroads. The sculpture and fountain are located near the Student Activity Center on the IU South Bend campus. Langland, a professor of fine arts, retired in 2003. He also crafted IU Bloomington’s Herman B Wells memorial sculpture. The new water feature includes the fountain itself as well as two figures.

Fountain of Knowledge: Chad Crabtree, IUSB admissions counselor, was the first person to correctly identify the Oct. 22 “Hoosier view.” He wasn’t alone. He was joined by the following IUSB community members in spotting the photo of Crossroads: Lauren Cikara, Jeff Walker, John Finnegan, Morrie DeGeyter and Alexandre Enkerli.
