Marion Broome, professor and associate dean for research in nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, will assume the university deanship of the IU School of Nursing, beginning July 1. Sharon Farley, executive associate dean at IUSON, is serving as interim dean.
Broome has distinguished herself professionally as an expert and leader in pediatric nursing research and practice; she has completed a series of funded projects that address key issues in the care of ill children and their parents, and has served as president of the Society for Pediatric Nurses, and on the boards of directors for the Association for the Care of Children’s Health and the Midwest Nursing Research Society.
