Jack Pincus, an authority on university intellectual property,
copyrights and software registration is joining IU’s Advanced
Research and Technology Institute (ARTI) as the incubator’s
new vice president for technology transfer. He will assume his
new position full time in January and will manage patenting
and licensing of new technologies and oversee the evaluation
of intellectual property created by IU faculty and staff (see
the John-e-Box). He will help transfer
those technologies to businesses in and out of the state, and
ensure institutional compliance with state and federal technology
transfer requirements.
Inventions handled by ARTI and its Emerging Technologies Center include new drug compounds, medical devices, medical methods and discoveries, and other useful concepts and ideas emanating from any of IU’s campuses.
