Clemmer


David Clemmer, assistant professor of chemistry at IU Bloomington, has been selected to receive the 2000 Phi Lambda Upsilon Fresenius Award for national recognition of outstanding contributions to the field of chemistry. Past distinguished recipients of the Fresenius award include Martin Karplus, Ronald Breslow, Mostafa El Sayed, John Baldeschwieler, Roald Hoffman, Harry Gray, Charles Cantor, Nicholas Turro and Richard Zare. The award will be presented to Clemmer during a special presentation to be held later on the IUB campus.

Phi Lambda Upsilon established the National Fresenius Award in 1965 to recognize outstanding chemists whose early achievements have an exceptionally high quality and who show great promise for distinguished careers in chemistry. The award is made to a person under 35 years of age who has made notable contributions to chemical research, education and/or administration.
