Ossie Davis, who died Feb. 4 at the age of 87, and his wife, Ruby Dee, served as keynote speakers at the Jan. 18, 2002 dedication of the building on the Bloomington campus that houses the Department of Theatre and Drama and the Neal and Frances Marshall Black Culture Center.
